I have been having a great time with my therapists lately. You can see from the photo above sometimes they even give me stickers.

Last night after a day filled with fun buying, new shoes, getting some new toys, going to the park, it was time for dessert.

My birthday’s not over, on Saturday I get to celebrate with Claire and my cousin Harper as we all gather to celebrate our October birthday’s at a combined party.
Yeah for me, more cupcakes.

Today I turn 2 and I have so many new things I can do!

I can eat an apple.

1. I can use my fork to eat my meals.
I can walk.
I can climb onto the furniture and get down
I can climb the stairs
I can make a picture using crayons, pencils or paint.

I can feed my baby doll.
I can use over 20 signs to communicate with my family.
I can say “boo,” “up,” “off,” “dog,” “O,” and Mamma, and Dadda.
I can use a cup and not a bottle (I don’t know where my bottles disappeared to)
I can use my voice to show my disapproval of something.
I can let the dog out of her crate.
I can swing on the swings

I can dance.
I can play peak a boo.
I can play with playdoh.
I can teach my family and others about Down syndrome.
Happy Down Syndrome Awareness Month.

Claire-thank you for raising awareness about Down syndrome at school, and encouraging your friends to participate, and all the other things you do for me.
Owen-thank you for raising awareness about Down syndrome at school and for your help stuffing the sport packs, and all the other fun stuff we do together.
Gramma and Poppy-thank you for the balloons and tablecloth...what a fun idea!
Nana-thank you for being the top fundraiser for Team Coco. We hope you had a fund day.
Great Poppy and Great Grandma Eleanor-thank you for bringing some extra goodies for the team to share, I think Claire asked earlier in the day “is Grandma Eleanor going to bring cookies.”
Uncle Jim, Aunt Angel, Olivia and Logan-thank you for sharing my special day and your offer to help next year. I’m sure we will have jobs for you all.
Uncle Gary and Aunt Pat-thank you for walking with us again this year, the Buddy Walk is becoming one of those few times we can all get together in one location bringing us together to celebrate. Maybe one year we can have Meghan, Kyle and Addison.
Derek, Steph and Reid-thank you, not only for your generous donation, but for traveling to be with us, representing 1 of the 4 states that make up Team Coco. I can’t wait for Reid to walk around the route with me next year.
Uncle Tom and Annie-thank you for being with us this year, I will always try to have the walk over before football begins.
Aunt Lisa, Uncle John, Abbie and Sam-thank you for all the many ways you helped make the Buddy Walk a success this year. Thank you to Aunt Lisa and Abbie for joining the committee, thank you Uncle John and Sam for your photo expertise, the heavy lifting and for getting up super early on a Sunday morning.
Aunt Jude-thank you for making drive from NJ, representing 1 of the 4 states that make up Team Coco.
Uncle Kevin, Aunt Maria, Morgan and Thomas-thank you for joining us this year, and bringing your Nona.
Uncle Chris, Aunt Jenn and Harper-thank you for the many ways you made the Buddy Walk a success. Thank you Harper for the Lemonade and Smores stand. Thank you Uncle Chris for the new sign holders. Thank you Aunt Jenn for joining the committee and bringing your family to join us.
John, Sue and JR-thank you for making the task of feeding 1,000 people look easy. Sue thank you for being on Harper duty so Aunt Jenn and Uncle Chris could help with the Buddy Walk.
Josh and Elyssa-thank you for raising awareness and funds, and your ability to cook hotdogs, your dancing ability was a highlight as well. Elyssa thanks for the photos, I will always remember this special day.
Katie Pray-thank you for knowing the best use your talents...the chalk drawing was a huge hit. I know we will be calling you next year.

Happy Down Syndrome Awareness Month

Today is the start of Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and I hope to complete the challenge 31 for 21...I have to blog everyday (31) for 21 (Down syndrome.) I hope you’ll join me, I will have lots of photos to show from the Buddy Walk, from birthday party, and of course Halloween.

Thank you Harper!

If you were lucky enough to live near my cousin Harper today, then you were in for a treat. Harper wanted to do his part to help raise funds for the Buddy Walk, so he, along with my Aunt Jenn and Uncle Chris, set out to entice their neighbors with a few special treats.

They started with some refreshing lemonade with a twist of fresh mint and lavender, topped off with some fresh peanut butter smores roasted over the fire in their backyard.

When I stopped by for a quick hello, he proudly told his neighbors “its for her.” Harper was the perfect host and quickly raised $50. Thank you Harper, I appreciate all your hard work.
